Current responsibilities:

Experience in leading improvements in learning and teaching:

  • Ofsted quote - Outcomes are rising steadily across the school for all pupils, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • A bespoke speech and language therapy project which I led resulted in some children making over 24 moths progress in speaking and listening in an 8 month period.

  • Children with SEND make small steps of progress from their own starting points due to the introduction of a learning passport for all children on the SEND support register.

  • Exclusions have reduced from 31 in 2015/16 to 0 so far in 2018 following the introduction of nurture provision and Individual behaviour plans. Learning behaviour in school is much more settled and this is evident in the end of key stage outcomes.

  • In a recent visit from challenge partners a leader from a SEND background said ‘the tracking systems for pupils with SEND are rigorous’.
