- English Leader for KS1 and KS2 (including phonics)

Experience in leading improvements in learning and teaching:
- Introduction and implementation of a new phonics approach to support the teaching and learning of children across EYFS, KS1 and those children who still needed phonics intervention at KS2
- Training staff on new strategies and approaches to the teaching of reading to improve comprehension and fluency
- Introduction of a strategy to improve the teaching of vocabulary across the curriculum to improve writing and vocabulary knowledge for all pupils
- Whole school approach to the teaching of spelling to improve this area across the school.
- Introduced differentiated delivery approach using assessment for learning to improve progression of children across the curriculum
- Implementation of a sequenced approach to the teaching of writing incorporating drama, text immersion, link texts and audience and purpose to improve writing especially for greater depth writers
- Developing new assessments and tracking documents for English
- Leading staff meetings and INSETS
- Coaching and supporting staff
- Internal moderation of writing and reading
- Supporting NQTs and Trainee Teachers
- KS1 moderation
