Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance wins NCTL bid to help qualified teachers, return to teaching

Lynn Nicholls, Portsmouth TSA School Direct and ITT Lead said “This is an exciting opportunity to design bespoke training and support for those who left teaching, maybe to bring up a family or explore a different career, in a supportive and structured way”.

Teaching, learning and assessment is a constantly developing arena and it is important to support returning teachers with changes in pedagogy, national curriculum and Ofsted.

The programme will help address some of the subject shortages we currently face in Ebacc subjects such as English, maths, biology, chemistry, physics, history and geography.

Steven Labedz, Executive Head of Salterns Academy Trust said: “as our city grows, we need many more good teachers and we know that there are real quality, fully trained people out there who have taken a career break and would be really effective back in the classroom. This course would give them the chance to bring themselves up-to-date and rediscover their love of teaching”

If you are a qualified teacher and would like to be supported to return back to the profession, then contact the Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance info@portsmouthtsa.org or visit www.portsmouthtsa.org

Spaces are limited and applicants must be registered by 31 March 2016 to qualify for the scheme.
