Return to Teach Event 27th March 2017
The Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance has won a National College of Teaching (NCTL) bid to support returning teachers back to the classroom. Funding supports qualified secondary teachers, trained in maths, physics and modern languages. The scheme focuses on employment and we want to help returners back to work, whether full-time or part-time. Once employed, we can support them with additional training or mentoring whilst in their new post. Returners are eligible for a £150 a week bursary (up to 4 weeks) and will have the opportunity to learn from colleagues in school and within the alliance. The scheme is open to returners from March to July 2017.
Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance have formed a new partnership with the IoW primary ITT trainers, primary Heads and the University of Portsmouth to deliver bespoke teacher training on the island.

Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance wins NCTL bid to help qualified teachers, return to teaching
Lynn Nicholls, Portsmouth TSA School Direct and ITT Lead said “This is an exciting opportunity to design bespoke training and support for those who left teaching, maybe to bring up a family or explore a different career, in a supportive and structured way”.
I can honestly say that I love every moment of training. I would encourage anyone with a passion to teach, who relishes the thought of new challenges every day, to do the same.
